Kwanzaa Associates Inc. started its community-based journey as a non-profit assisting the elderly and disabled with mobility issues in their homes. Our skilled workers built ramps and installed equipment to help foster independence.
Later, we then started a reading program at Maratha’s Table, a non-profit in Washington DC. (Tacya’s Book Club) focused on children ages 18 months to 5 years of age to develop an interest in reading and cultural self-awareness. The reading program began in remembrance of the founder Craig Fulmore’s daughter (Tacya) , who loved books and transitioned at a young age.
The organization’s mission grew to include workforce development at Booker T. Washington Public Charter School. Kwanzaa Associates began conducting training classes to assist participants with gaining certifications in First AID and Safety Certifications.
